Throughout his life he was a very modest and private man. Few knew that he was an allied prisoner of war in Germany, or the hardships he endured. Michael married Olga Kolody while working in Germany, and son Peter Kozelko was born there. The Kolody family from Saskatchewan sponsored them to come to Canada in 1951. He then worked for INCO until his retirement in 1982. In 1996 Olga passed away and Mike came to live with his family until February 2008. His final few months were spent at Barvinok Retirement Home.
